Plaza Carso – Showroom
“Carlos Slim is one of the world’s most important philanthropists, yet most people have never heard about his humanitarian activities.
He owns shares in more than 200 companies that employ over 200,000 people across Latin America and beyond. He has used his resources to help develop the communities where his businesses operate.
In his home country, Mexico, he has personally supported more than 165,000 young people in attending university, funded numerous surgeries, provided equipment for rural schools, and covered bail bonds for 50,000 individuals who were entitled to their freedom but could not afford it.
He recently created the Carso Institute for Health, designed to provide a new and innovative approach to health care in Mexico. He has four billion dollars in investments dedicated to promoting education, health, and other major social challenges, and has recently announced an additional six billion dollar investment in several programs, including those supported by the Telmex Foundation.”
Social responsibility is a fundamental part of Carlos Slim Helú’s business strategy and culture, focused on maximizing the positive impact of his companies to benefit the communities where they operate. His initiatives contribute to the fight against poverty through programs promoting nutrition, education, and employment, supported by his various foundations and institutes.

Soumaya Museum
Twenty-five years ago, Museo Soumaya – Fundación Carlos Slim – opened its doors at Plaza Loreto, a cultural and commercial complex. In 2011, another venue was inaugurated as part of an urban redevelopment project and remarkable engineering achievement in Plaza Carso.
The vocation of this non-profit institution is to collect, research, preserve, and share the artistic and historical legacy of Mexico and Europe with diverse audiences.

Association for the Advancement of Mexico, A.C.
The Association for the Advancement of Mexico (ASUME) was founded in 1980 out of the desire to take action and support Mexico. ASUME carries out a human development program that is mainly based on three core principles:
- Constant self-improvement. There are no limits or excuses to try to be a little better than yesterday.
- Competition. It must be with myself, not with others, since comparing myself or feeling inferior prevents personal growth.
- Balanced self-improvement. Strive to improve in each of the following eight aspects of human life: physical, economic, aesthetic, intellectual, emotional, social, moral, and spiritual — setting goals in each area.
Our Purpose: “Improve yourself to improve your surroundings.”
Goal: “Changing society through changing the individual.”
ASUME A.C., through continuous self-improvement based on the identification and practice of values, seeks to form men and women of peace— responsible, happy, and committed to themselves, their families, their work, and to Mexico.
